On behalf of all the children, staff and governors of Lingey House Primary School, I would like to warmly welcome you to our school website. Lingey House is a two-form entry primary school and nursery in the heart of Leam Lane Estate and has a strong family ethos. Many of our staff, governors and parents attended Lingey House as pupils and are incredibly passionate about the school. This website has been produced to provide you with an insight into our school. It is full of information that will help you familiarise yourself with many of our structures and routines. I am incredibly proud to be Headteacher of Lingey House Primary School. I took up the post in January 2021 having taught in schools in Durham for over 15 years and now cannot imagine being anywhere else! I have two young sons so I understand the pressures of parenthood and the juggling needed to succeed at both work and at home. I pride myself on being approachable and down to earth and strive to build strong partnerships with home and school. I believe it is through working together that we can provide what is best for our children so they are the kindest, happiest and most successful versions of themselves!

Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make as a parent. We all want the very best education for our children, but we also want them to be safe, happy and understood as individuals.  I believe we are an extremely effective school, and all the staff are committed to preparing your child for a lifelong journey of exploring, questioning and learning. We pride ourselves in ensuring that we provide a curriculum which supports our children as learners in every sense of the word. Our staff mould and develop the curriculum to make sure every child has the opportunity to be successful and leave us ready for the next stage of their education – wherever that may be. We are equally proud of our caring, happy and stimulating environment, in which children flourish and would be delighted to welcome you into school.
