Lingey House Athletics Team Success

Our athletics team had a very successful day at the Gateshead Primary Schools Athletics Festival on Friday 26th June. All of our competitors were successful in gaining places in the semi finals of the track events, with most going on to the finals. Medals were won for the following events:
Boys skipping race
Girls 600m race
Boys 600m race
Girls relay
Girls cricket ball throw
The boys narrowly missed out on a gold medal for their relay race when one of them slipped on the track due to the adverse weather conditions. All competitors performed well and enjoyed the event even though they all got a soaking!
We are extremely proud of all of them.

Ofsted: Lingey House - An Outstanding School
Lingey House is an outstanding school. Pupils, staff and parents readily embrace the school’s motto ‘to aim high’ and this is evidenced most clearly in the excellent progress pupils make, the high standards they attain, and in the exceptional
curriculum and care, guidance and support provided. [Ofsted May 2009]
Pupils talk enthusiastically and with confidence, about how
much they enjoy school, and how, ‘Lingey House is the best school in the universe’, and this can be seen in their very positive attitudes to learning and their exemplary behaviour. [Ofsted May 2009]

Y5 Animation Compettion
Lingey House showed once again why they are the 'Best School In The Universe!' when they won the Y5 Animation Competition at Heworth Grange CLC.
The four pupils from Y5 competed over two days against other schools from throughout Gateshead.
Lingey House's winning animation 'The Adventures of Sir Lingeylot' will now go forward to be entered in the Children's UK Film Awards to be held in October.
The four winning members of the animation team each received a fabulous i-pod as their prize.

Dog Fouling
We have received a complaint from the Council about dog fouling on the grassed areas around school. It appears adults collecting children are leaving dogs tied up outside the school gates. Can we ask that dogs are not left unattended next to the school gate nor must they be brought onto the school premises. If your dog fouls outside the school, could you please clean up after it.
