Summer Term
Our topic this term is 'Growth and Change.'
Reception Fun Sports
We had great fun on our fun sports morning. We did lots of races including the egg and spoon race, a relay race, an obstacle race, a beanbag shuttle and running races.
Our School's 60th Birthday
We had a lovely day for the school's birthday. We watched 'The Forgotten Teddy Bear' show which was really funny. We had to cuddle our teddies to make magic happen. Then we had a teddy bears picnic on the field. We spent the rest of the day doing fin activities then had an ice-cream to finish the day!
Puzzle Day
Our parents/carers came into school for the afternoon. They played all different games and puzzles with us. We all had a great time!
Trying out Yoga
We were lucky to have a trial session of Yoga. It was based on the story of 'The Gruffalo.' It helped develop our balance, control and motor skills.
Visit to Hall Hill Farm
We visited Hall Hill Farm and had a fantastic day. We toured the farm and met and fed all the animals, went on a tractor ride, bottle fed the lambs, held a chick, held a rabbit and guinea pig. We also had time for a quick play on the playground.
Spring Term 2
Our topic this half term is 'Space.'
Mother's Day Assembly and Afternoon Tea
We did our assembly about the special people in our lives. Our guests then stayed for a yummy afternoon tea.
World Book Day
We dressed up for World Book Day. we all looked fabulous in our costumes. Can you guess who we are?
We did lots of story related activities including sharing books with year 3.
Forest School
We have started our forest school sessions. We have had a great time climbing, balancing, working together, exploring and so much more!
Spring Term 1
Our Topic for this half term is 'Winter and Cold Places.'
Road Safety
We have been learning about keeping safe on the roads.
We learnt to STOP - LOOK - LISTEN - THINK before crossing the road.
Year 1 come to visit
Year 1 brought some of their fact writing to share with us. They showed us their work. It was great to talk to them and see what they have been doing.
Chinese New Year
We have been learning about Chinese New Year, how it is celebrated and how it is the same and different to our culture.
We have had a busy week. We have done Chinese dancing, made a large dragon heads and danced through the school, tasted Chinese food and made Chinese New Year crafts.
Exploring the Snow
When the first snow of the year fell, we all went outside and explored what it felt like. Some children made snowballs, some tried to build snowmen and other tried catching the snowflakes on their tongues!
Making Bird Feeders
The children mixed together lard and bird seed to make bird feeders after learning about looking after wildlife in the winter.
Autumn Term
Our Topics for this term are 'All about me' and
'Festivals and Celebrations.'
Our Christmas Party
We had great fun at our Christmas party. We played games, danced and ate yummy food. We also had a special visitor who brought us all a present.
Craft and Music Morning
Our parents came and joined us for a morning of fun. we made various different Christmas crafts and then sang, danced and listened to the music.
Hanukkah
We learnt about Hanukkah, the Jewish Festival of Light. The children finger painted the candles on a Menorah and also made their own from paper and card.
Practising our Literacy and Maths Skills
We have been practising our writing, reading and maths skills this term. We have been making marks, writing recognisable letters and numbers and ordering and counting with numbers.
Visit to the Library
We visited the library. We had a great time listening to a story, singing and acting out 'Five little monkey's jumping on the bed.' We enjoyed reading and sharing books.
Halloween
The children all got dressed up for Halloween. They played games and had lots of fun. Can you guess who they are?
The Gingerbread Man
After reading the story the Gingerbread Man, we made salt dough Gingerbread Men and used our fine motor skills to decorate gingerbread men.

The children have been settling into their new class and have been exploring lots of different activities inside and outside.
