E.g. As I stared from the window, I watched rivulets of rain pummel the glass. The rain trickled down towards the glass and I could just make out a minuscule sparrow, which was hiding beneath the garden table. The spindly branches of the tree at the south of the garden fought against the howling wind and the wilted petals of petunias cowered from the treacherous conditions.

Home Learning Worksheet - Friday Challenge (15/5/20)

Thursday 14th May

Hello everyone! Hopefully a lovely sunny day today! Some activities ideas for today:

English - Yesterday you were asked to design your own creature. Today, write a character sketch for it. Think about how your creature moves and acts. Remember to use all of the different things we have learnt about this year!

e.g. Deep within the darkness of the cave, there lay a disgusting creature. Not a single sound could be heard except the heavy breathing of the beast. Its eyes burned yellow like a swarm of phosphorescent fireflies and the scales on his back were obsidian black. In almost silence, he waited for the opportunity to sneak out from his cave to attack. The beast's neck, which was one metre long, bore scars of previous battles.

Maths - Complete the sheet on time (below). We are going to continue on with the lessons that we would have been teaching had we been in school. As White Rose are focussing on recapping topics it sadly means that there will no longer videos of the lessons. If you have any questions about posted maths lessons please send us an email. ** All of these worksheets for the maths that we will be covering and adding to the website are available in the new pack that is available to collect from school.**

From today (Wednesday 29th April) we will be getting in touch with you and your grown ups by phone. We have called a number of you today and we have loved catching up. We are so proud of how well you are all handling this strange time and how helpful you have all been at home. If we haven't spoken to you today, we will be calling still over the next few days so keep your eyes peeled!

We've been spending the past few weeks uploading work for you all, paperwork and writing reports. As well as this, Mr B has been going for lots of runs and keeping active! Miss H has been training Bo to go for walks and some of you asked for some photos - you all know she is the laziest dog of them all!

More fantastic photos coming through to our emails! Thank you so much for sharing your photos, drawings and work with us. We love seeing them, keep them coming!

Jessica sent us a great description about the lighthouse keeper:

He lives by his self near the sea and everyone relies on him so that no boats crash in to land! He is really lonely since he lives by his self. He is really fat and chubby. He where’s a light coal suit what smells like fish! He is intelligent handy man who likes righting letters . He has loads of stuff to cover like making sure nothing crashes into the city. The rest of the friendly city helps  and cares for the pour old man when he needs it . This makes him feel honoured and as he was the king of the universe!

Wednesday 29th April
