Our Chair and Vice Chair of governors enjoyed their visit into school this week. (Thursday 27th February)
They spoke to the Early Year leaders about provision and assessment in the nursery and Reception class and are setting up another meeting to see our outstanding early years provision.
They also spoke to our Leader of Assessment to gain a deeper understanding of all the tracking and assessment procedures that we have in place. They were very impressed at how we use our rigorous tracking systems to ensure pupils make at least good progress and quickly identify where interventions are needed. They had opportunities to look through pupil books to see how successful our use of 'Effective Marking' is and how the use of pupil targets ensure exceptional progress is made.
They reported their findings from the visit, back to the full governing body.
They are looking forward to their next visit when they are going to look in more depth at our on line tracking system.
