Tips for Parents if Your Child is Using Fortnite
#1. Familiarise yourself with the game
As we always recommend, try it yourself. This is one of the best ways of learning and understanding what it’s about.
#2. Stay near while they are playing
It’s a good idea to either play with your child or at least stay near and watch what they are doing, and with whom they interact.
#3. Make sure they are aware of the risks
Your child should know that there could be adults using Fortnite too and that they need to be careful.
#4. Advise them to be careful when chatting
If they play Battle Royale mode talk to them about chatting online, how it’s important not to chat to strangers and that, as with all internet apps or websites, they should never ever give out personal information online.
#5. Have a conversation again about internet safety
Remind your child that they should only ever befriend true life friends or family members online and to tell you if they see anything strange or receive any adverse messages.
