Fun in the Snow

We had lots of fun in the snow and used it in our learning. We developed our physical skills by rolling very large snowballs to make a snowman, we weighed snowballs to see which was the heaviest and compared the sizes of the snowballs we made.

Autumn Term

We are YRGB. We are settling into our new class and exploring all the lovely things in our classroom. Our topics are 'Ourselves and our Families' and 'Celebrations'

After reading 'Owl Babies' we went on a walk to the park to collect natural materials to build nests for the Owl Babies.
We have been working together in the outdoor area and finding different ways of moving.

Apple Picking

Did you know we have apple trees in the grounds of school?
We had great fun picking the apples from the trees. The tricky part was working out how to reach them. The children had lots of problem solving ideas!

Watch this space to find out what we make with them.

With the apples we made...

Apple Cookies!!

The children enjoyed weighing out the ingredients, stirring the mixture, baking the cookies and of course the best bit...eating the cookies!

Sharing our work with the Year 1 children.

The Year 1 children came to visit our classroom. They brought their work about owls to share with us and we shared our work with them. It was great to make new friends and talk about our learning.

Teddy Bear's Picnic

After reading 'My friend Bear' and 'It's the Bear' we wrote invitations to our teddy bears for our teddy bear's picnic. We made jam sandwiches and then took our teddies to the park for our picnic.

Visit to the Library

We visited the library and had a fantastic time. We listened to a story and had time to share a book with a friend. We were given our Bookstart packs. We all got a book and a sticker.

Visit to The Hatton Gallery in Newcastle

We visited the Hatton Gallery and explored different art. We looked at the colours, shapes and patterns in the art in the gallery and then tried making our own shape and colour pictures.

Christmas Crafts and Music Morning

We held a Christmas crafts morning and lots of lovely parents and carers came and made lots of different crafts. They were then able to stay for our music session.
