Summer Show 2016

When You're Smiling!

Summer Term!

This term in English we have been focusing on News Stories. The class created their own news stories acting as journalists for the week and carried out interviews to find out key information for their story. The class created their own news stories as part of their homework. Take a look at the next generation of journalists and their creative work!

This term in Maths we have been focusing on capacity. We have looked at different measurements and converted measurements from millilitres to litres.  We created our own potions using measurements given and tried to turn Miss Drummond into an elk. Have a look at our potions and what we have created.

Our topic this term is the British Isles. We have looked in detail at the British Isles looking closely at rivers, mountains and comparing different cities. In design technology we designed our own British Isles board games. We enjoyed using different resources and materials to create our games.

This year in year 3/4 we have lots of exciting activities planned. Our first topic in creative curriculum is The Romans, we will be looking in detail at who the Romans were and which countries they invaded. We will be using historical sources and artefacts to help our learning and we will be creating our own Roman artefacts.

In maths this term we will be looking in detail at place value, addition and subtaction, multiplication and division. In yr 3/4 it is important children learn their timestables to support their maths learning and take part in homework activities set.

In English this term we will be looking at stories and poetry. It is important for children to practise their spellings, read at home and complete homework to help develop English skills further.

Here are some Roman shields we have designed and created in creative curriculum. Take a look and see what we have made.

In P.E. this term we have had a coach in to help us learn hockey skills.

Take a look at what we have been doing.
