Lingey invaded London as 20 of our children from Year 5 and 6 visited the capital for a special 2 day trip.
It was an early start for the pupils as we had to meet at the Central Station at 6:30am, but as the train sped off for London everyone was excited about the events that lay ahead.
From Kings Cross station we had a short walk to the hotel in Russel Square to drop off our bags and then it was on to an open-top bus to see the famous landmarks of London.
Next we boarded a boat at Tower Bridge and headed down the Thames to Westminster where we went for a ride on the London Eye.
Our busy day continued as we caught the Tube back to the hotel and changed into our posh clothes ready for a night in the West End. A meal at Pizza Hut was followed by a fabulous night at the theatre seeing Mary Poppins.
Having had such an eventful day we were all ready for a good night's sleep back at the hotel.
After a cooked breakfast at the hotel we caught the Tube to the National Gallery and then quickly bought some souvenirs in Trafalgar Square to take home for our friends and family.
Next we walked up Whitehall, passing Horseguards Parade and arrived at Downing Street.
Normally you can't go onto Downing Street, but Mr Brown had heard what a wonderful school Lingey House was and invited us up! We all had our pictures taken outside of Number 10 and Mr Bailey even managed to get himself on the news!
We left Downing Street and caught the Tube to the Bank of England where we got the chance to pick up a gold bar worth over £100,000!
When we got back to Kings Cross we had our pictures taken on Harry Potter's platform 9 3/4 and then just had time for tea at McDonald's before getting the train home again.
We were all really tired when we got home, but was worth it as we all have memories that will last us a lifetime.
The 20 children will be performing an assembly about their trip to London on Monday 15th October (same day as parents evening) at 2:30pm.
Photographs and DVDs of the visit will be available to buy on the day and in school afterwards.
