Welcome to Rainbows Nursery
This term our topic is Ourselves and Celebrations. We are planning on doing lots of exciting things so please keep checking our page to see what we have been up to.
This week nursery had their first Forest School session. They enjoyed meeting Papa Troll the guardian of the forest. The children enjoyed making forest helper bracelets, making a mud slide and playing in the mud kitchen. Some of the children were brave enough to pick up some of the bugs we found.
Look at our photos to see how much fun we had.
We went for a walk to Oliver Henderson Park to look for signs of Autumn. We noticed that the leaves were falling from the trees and the flowers were dying, leaving berries behind. We found lots of conkers under the Horse Chestnut trees. We were also lucky enough to find acorns beneath the Oak tree. We learned that Oak trees produce their first acorns when they are between 40-50 years old.
This week in food technology we practised our spreading skills. We spread butter on toast and added a topping of our choice. The most popular topping was chocolate spread.
We went shopping to Fewster Square for ingredients for our cookery session later this week. We bought bread, butter, jam and chocolate spread so we can practise our spreading skills when we make toast.
Visit From the Veterinary Nurse
Susan, the veterinary nurse came to check on our guinea pigs, Buzz and Woody. While she was here she trimmed their nails. Thank you to Susan for taking the time to visit us.
The children have enjoyed feeding the boys and helping to clean out their hutch this week.
