We have really enjoyed planting and caring for broad bean plants this half term as part of our Make It Grow topic.
Year 1 Zappy Zebras
We had a surprise visit from Prince Charming looking for Cinderella! Although he didn't find her in our classroom we made some wanted posters to help him. Eventually Cinderella was found, thanks to our posters, and we received a lovely letter from The Prince thanking us for our help!
Gary from the Fire Service came to visit Year 1. We learnt lots of useful information about how to prevent fires and what to do if there is a fire. Did you know that the Fire Service can provide and install fire alarms for free? We had great fun trying on some of the protective clothing that fire fighters wear!
We had great fun racing our balloon powered cars in the playground!

Year 1 gets a visit from Santa
Our class assembly all about pirates... We had a wonderful time learning all about the famous Blackbeard and Anne Bonny and hearing the story 'A New Home for a Pirate'.
We had a wonderful time at our Pirate Party to celebrate the end of our 'Pirates' creative curriculum topic.
We had a visit from Pippa Bell to start our new 'Move It' topic. We looked at lots of different transport pictures which helped us with lots of ideas for our own art work.
We designed and made our own balloon powered cars as part of our 'Move It' topic. We had great fun racing them in the playground!
