Reflections

Mrs McKay's and Miss Gray's class had a lovely trip to the park on Monday 21st October. We have been looking at the painting 'The Fighting Temeraire' by Turner (see Take One Picture entry) We decided to go to the park to experience first hand what things look like when they are reflected in water. We took some wonderful pictures of this on our walk.

We have been creating our own reflection pictures that will be on display in our classroom and in the Early Years Hall. Please feel free to pop in and have a look next term.

Parents Day Follow Up

Thank%2520You%2520Sunflower%2520SH05-0393.jpg
Can we first of all start by saying thank you to those parents of Reception aged children who attended our parents meetings on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st of October. It was lovely to meet you all and tell you how well your children have settled in to their new classes.
Just a quick reminder about letting us know what your child is achieving at home. As we said at our meeting with you, we really value your input into what your child does at home, what your child enjoys or any new skills they are developing. This information will help us to make sure your child receives appropriate learning activities that interest and excite them.
Be sure to look at 'What's Happening Next Term' to see the kinds of things we will be learning next term.

What's Happening Next Term

Children in Mrs McKay's (YR) and Miss Gray's (YR/1) are in for a real treat next term. We will be using the following books within our classrooms while exploring Light & Colour

We look forward to seeing you there.

Reception and Reception/Year 1

stencil-witch-cauldron.gif
Beware when entering our YR and YR/1 classes during the next fortnight as all classroom activities are based around the popular children's book - Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson. Pupils will be writing spells in literacy and measuring broomsticks in numeracy. Children are also looking forward to the Hallowe'en Disco on Wednesday 31st October.

Photo Session

Could parents please ensure that their child brings a T-shirt and shorts with them to school on Wednesday 31st October for our calendar photo shoot. A football strip would be great but any shorts and T-shirts will do.
