Start of Day Routine

Can I remind parents that a member of staff is on duty from 8.50am on the main yard. Parents may leave children on the yard under the supervision of the adult on duty. Please ensure your child/children are at school by 8.55am- whistle blows just before 9.00am. All children are collected by staff from their line on the yard.

Please let your child join their line - it is so important to develop their independence.

Holiday Absence

New government regulations mean that I am unable to authorise holiday absences of more than 10 days in any academic year. Unfortunately the system will not allow me to do this and absences for holidays of more than 10 days will be recorded as unauthorised absence. This is not a school decision but a legal requirement. The school is set a pupil absence target which is monitored by the Local Authority. I am working with our newly appointed Educational Welfare Officer to implement government strategies to improve the attendance and punctuality of some children.

Y5 & Y6 Visit HMS Northumberland

Pupils from Year 5 and Year 6 were given the opportunity to go on board HMS Northumberland during its trip into the Tyne.

Pupils with 100% attendance so far this year became captains for the day and had the chance to explore the Swan Hunter built battleship.

Our official photographer Alexandra Arkless was on hand to capture the events of the day.
