Our Y4/5, Y5/6 and Y6 children have been working on a creative curriculum topic: MIners and Banners which is closely linked with the Bicentenary Felling Pit disaster. Children have worked with the CLC to create Miners Comic strips and they have even dressed up as characters from that era and used green screen technology to make photos and videos of what it would have been like to live around that time.

Take a look at our photographs from the day.

Gary from the Fire Service came to visit Year 1. We learnt lots of useful information about how to prevent fires and what to do if there is a fire. Did you know that the Fire Service can provide and install fire alarms for free? We had great fun trying on some of the protective clothing that fire fighters wear!

On Friday lunchtime the Year 5's and 6's played their first friendly match against each other on the school field. The whole school showed their support for both teams by making rosettes for the teams they wished to support, staff joined in too.

The Year 6 team (Blue) helped the newly formed team Year 5 (Red) warm up for their match on Friday night after school. Victory was held for the Blue team...but we must remember it was only for fun!

Here are some photos from the match!
