Reception have settled into their new class very well. The children have been extremely busy in class.
In Literacy the children have been looking at the story of the Gingerbread man, the class have been retelling the story using role play masks. Also the children have been focusing on writing their names and forming their letters correctly. This has been done in lots of different ways, outside using large chalks, painting their names onto the playground using water and practising pencil control following wiggly lines and crocodiles teeth and picking up sequins out of gloop with tweezers.
In Numeracy the children have been practising their counting in lots of different ways including counting buttons on the Gingerbread man.
Our topic this half term is “Ourselves” the class have been painting their potraits and finding out what colour eyes everybody has in the class and also what colour hair they have.
The children have been exploring their new classroom choosing lots of different activities.
I hope you enjoyed looking at the photographs of YR.
