Year 4 pupils from Lingey House will be visiting Gateshead Stadium on Wednesday 8th July to meet the crew of NASA Space Shuttle Discovery STS-119.

STS-119 (ISS assembly flight 15A) was a space shuttle mission to the International Space Station (ISS) which was flown by Space Shuttle Discovery during March 2009.The launch took place on March 15, 2009. Discovery successfully landed on March 28, 2009.

When our Year 4 pupils return in September into Year 5, their first Creative Curriculum topic will be 'Space' and this was an ideal opportunity for them to meet and greet real-life astronauts and hear about their experiences in space.

I was mostly excited when the helicopter was flying near the stadium!
I know Y4 had a great day with the astronauts. I think Brandon would like to be the first man on Mars- that's a real goal Brandon.
