Hello to both the staff and the pupils at Lingey House!

Thank you for inviting me to help you celebrate your birthday as part of your History/Geography day. I hope you all enjoyed finding out about what the area used to be like using the artefacts I brought in from St Mary's.

I had a great day myself. The 'solid gold, diamond encrusted, platinum-lined pen' you gave me is sitting proudly on my coffee table at home right now!

Some of you, I hope, will be able to call in to see me at St Mary's over the summer. We have loads of arty events every Tues and Weds for all the family, and we even have a dragon expert coming to visit us on July 31st! Have a look at our website for more details:
www.asaplive.com/local/heritage.cfm
Look for the links to 'Local history events' to find out more!

Have a wonderful summer!

Warm affection,

Richard (that strange bloke in in the bowler hat!)

Hi Amanda! Wish you had been with us on Tuesday- you would have enjoyed the celebration. Jennifer's grandmother has made a wonderful cake for us to cut at the final celebration tomorrow afternoon. We would love a link with your school in Korea.

Congratulations to the winners of Lingey's Got Talent. All of the competitors were very good but the winners were outstanding. Well done Kyrsty, Abbie and Clyde. What a great afternoon to follow the fabulous day we had yesterday to celebrate the school's 50th birthday.

The birthday is just da bomb even on the second day. I'm in the Lingey's got talent!:)

Hi. I just wanted to drop a line to wish Lingey House Primary School a great big 'Happy 50th Birthday'!

I started in Mrs. Johnson's reception class in the late 70's (the same time my mam, Mrs. Ball started working in the nursery!)

I have some fantastic memories of my time there. I still fondly remember teachers like Mrs. Thompson, Mr Webb, Miss Cornwall as well as many others.

I remember playing the Archangel Gabriel in my first nativity with Diane Stevenson playing Mary. I then went on to play Gretel alongside Alvin Forster's Hansel, and finally Bright Star overlooking another nativity. Happy memories.

I remember posting Christmas cards in the little red postbox. Our class smashing a hall window with the huge maypole. Trips to the Farne Islands. Our lovely happy smiley dinner ladies. Boys taking over the playground to play football with a tennis ball. All the lovely staff and especially all the lovely friends I made and still keep in touch with today.

(I am in South Korea teaching English to Korean students. If any of the students would like a penfriend or would be interested in doing a project on South Korea, then let me know. I'm sure I'd have some willing students and be able to send some interesting things. )

Anyway, hope you have a fantastic time. I'm sure it'll be great fun. I'm just sad I can't be there. My little niece Jenny will pass on my love too.

Congratulations!
Much love
Amanda Ball
