3 In A Row

'3 In A Row' is a Connect 4 style game which is great for use as a mental/oral starter or during the plenary to the Numeracy lesson.

Pupils are split into 4 teams and each team is allocated 3 dice. One person from each team rolls the 3 dice and teams then can use any of the 4 operations to make as many different answers possible. Teams then have to decide which number to circle on the whiteboard.

Object of the game is to be the first to circle '3 In A Row', but teams also need to think about blocking their opponents too.

NB. The game is best played on a SMARTBoard where the 4 different coloured pens can be used, but can also be played on a drywipe board using different coloured marker pens.
